AP Physics 2 – Jiang Yu
This session, AP Physics 2 with Dr. Jiang Yu is offered ONLINE during Week 1: June 15-18, 2026.
Meet your APSI Consultant for AP Physics 2

Jiang Yu, Ph.D., is a professor of physics at Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts. Jiang’s involvement with the AP Physics programs began in 1997 when she first led a College Board endorsed AP Physics Summer Institute for high school teachers at her home university. Since then, she has led many AP Physics workshops and institutes in the United States and aboard.
For the annual AP Physics exams, Jiang participated in the exam grading from 2000 to 2017 and served various leadership roles including a full term of Chief Readership from 2009 to 2013 and a Chief Reader Associateship from 2013 to 2017.
As the Chief Reader/Chief Reader Associate, Jiang worked with the AP Physics Exam Development Committees, set the grading rubric standards, and led the Reading operations. In addition, Jiang has served as a senior reviewer and curriculum adviser for the AP Physics course audit program.
APSI Course Description
This four-day AP Physics 2 summer institute is to provide an opportunity for high school physics teachers to familiarize themselves with the AP Physics 2 course, and to meet and share ideas with others who are developing or teaching AP Physics 2. Topics will include the new 2024 edition of Physics 2 Course and Exam Description, the required topics and lab practices, and the recommended teaching strategies and resources. We will examine the recent years’ exam questions, inquiry-based instruction methods, lab/project ideas, and syllabus design and course audit. Participants are expected to take active roles in the institute, familiarize themselves with the new AP Physics 2 CED, answer sample exam questions and examine sample student answers, share inquiry-based teaching strategies and lab ideas that help students to develop reasoning and thinking skills using physical laws. We will hold daily synchronous and asynchronous sessions. We will use Zoom for our synchronous meetings.
