Deanna Scheffer is an active member of the AP World Language Course Redesign Committee, the instructor contributes to the ongoing update of the AP French Language and Culture course and exam. Her involvement ensures she offers current insights and practical guidance for effectively implementing the curriculum and exam modifications, and strategies to maximize student success on the exam.
With extensive leadership role experience at the AP Reading—including positions as Table Leader and Assistant Chief Reader—as well as roles as AP Daily Lead, AP Live Instructor, and Consultant Mentor, she brings a wealth of expertise in AP exam development, scoring practices and assessment standards focused on student achievement.
In addition to teaching all levels of French and preparing students for both AP and IB exams, she offers specialized strategies for teaching students at beginning or intermediate proficiency levels. She frequently manages multi-level classes and provides approaches to support diverse learners.
She is a Vice President of the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) and the Florida Grand Concours Director. She served as Florida Chapter President for three terms and has received multiple honors, including the Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes.
This workshop draws on her comprehensive College Board committee work and rich classroom experience to equip teachers with tested strategies, practical sample materials, and clear guidance to navigate the evolving AP French Language and Culture program successfully.
