Jill Taylor earned a degree in Mathematics from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, and a Master of Education in Mathematics Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Mathematics Education at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. With 25 years of teaching experience, Jill has taught mathematics at the middle school, high school, and college levels across Arkansas, Texas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma.
From 2018 to 2023, Jill served as the Math Department Chair and AP Lead Teacher at Broken Arrow High School, where she spearheaded efforts to strengthen and expand the school’s AP program. She is now an assistant professor of mathematics at Tulsa Community College and teaches AP Precalculus and AP Calculus online for Horizon Digital Campus.
Jill actively contributes to the mathematics education community through her involvement with the Oklahoma Council of Teachers of Mathematics, where she served on the Board of Directors as the Secretary. She is a College Board workshop consultant for AP Calculus and AP Precalculus and serves as a member of the College Board National Faculty for the Pre-AP program. In 2019, Jill began as an AP reader for AP Calculus, and she currently serves as an Early Table Leader for AP Precalculus—an invaluable experience that strengthens her AP teaching strategies.
Beyond her academic and professional commitments, Jill is a regular presenter at conferences, summer institutes, and workshops at both local and state levels. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, watching sports, and spending quality time with her husband, children, and beloved grandson.

At this APSI, participants will:

  • Explore each section of the course and exam description, including the unit guides, while making connections to the course curricular requirements
  • Begin to develop a course plan by unit and topic that incorporates the full scope of your AP course into your school’s academic calendar
  • Examine formative and summative assessment items to identify content and skill pairings that are the targets of these assessments and create lesson plans to reinforce content and skill connections
  • Practice applying the scoring guidelines from the most recent AP Exam to samples of student work
  • Identify student strengths and weaknesses using data available through AP Classroom and Instructional Planning Reports
  • Explore ready-to-use strategies, instructional materials, and pedagogical tools pertinent to the content and skills required for success in your AP course
  • Develop meaningful connections within the AP community
