AP Grant Opportunities:

AP Fellows

AP Fellows is an annual competitive grant program that provides AP Summer Institute scholarships for high school teachers at schools serving minority or low-income students who have been traditionally underrepresented in AP courses. The $1,000 scholarships cover the cost of APSI tuition; any remaining funds may be applied to travel and expenses.

Scholarship requirements:

Teachers must:

-  Be planning to teach an AP course in the 2017–18 academic year; and

-  Teach in schools that meet the following criteria:

o   At least 50 percent of the student population consists of underrepresented minority (African- American, Hispanic/Latino, and/or American Indian) students

And/or

o   At least 50 percent of the student population qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch; and

-  Not have received a College Board APSI scholarship for the same subject within the last three years.

AP Rural Fellows

AP Rural Fellows is an annual competitive grant program that provides AP Summer Institute scholarships for teachers serving in rural areas of the country. The $1,500 scholarships cover APSI tuition; any remaining funds may be applied to travel and expenses.

Scholarship requirements

Teachers must:

-  Be planning to teach an AP course in the 2017–18 academic year; and

-  Teach at schools that are classified as “rural” by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and in which at least 50 percent of the student qualify for free or reduced-price lunch; and

-  Not have received a College Board APSI scholarship for the same subject within the last three years.

AP Capstone Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to AP Capstone teachers with no other sources of funding who are planning to attend the AP Capstone summer professional development event. The scholarships cover the cost of tuition only.

Scholarship requirements:

Teachers must:

-  Plan to teach AP Research or AP Seminar in the 2017-18 academic year

-  Teach in a district with a median income of below $87,500 and/or in schools at which 50 percent of students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch
